What is After Effects?

Adobe After Effects is a powerful 2.5D animation software used for creating motion graphics, visual effects, and compositing for film, TV, and web videos. It is commonly used in the post-production phase to manipulate imagery and combine layers of video, images, and other media into dynamic scenes.

Key Features of After Effects:

1. Motion Graphics Animation

After Effects allows you to create animations by manipulating vector and raster art, telling stories through movement.

2. Visual Effects

The software includes hundreds of effects to enhance and transform video or imagery.

3. Integration with Other Media

You can integrate photographs, videos, and other physical media into your projects.

Pre-Compositing in Adobe Photoshop:

Photoshop is often used to prepare and organize graphic elements and photographs before importing them into After Effects

Layers are composed in Photoshop and organized with clear names. This preparation ensures easier animation in After Effects.

Pre-Compositing in Adobe After Effects:

In After Effects, you animate layers and sequences from various elements, such as images, videos, and vectors Import elements from external software like Photoshop and Illustrator.

● Organize and synchronize layers for animation. (After Effects links to media files rather than embedding them, so keeping source files organized is essential)

This streamlined workflow between Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects makes it a versatile tool for creating visually stunning projects.

2. Practical: After Effect Exercise

Figure 2.2 After Effect (Final)

First, I created separate folders to keep everything organized and easy to find files. After that, I set the duration to 15 seconds and enabled the 'keys' option.

I created transform features like rotation, scale, and position, and added keyframes to set timeframes and create a looping animation.

3. Reflection

The tutorial and practical sessions were easy to follow. At first, I thought it would be complicated, but I was wrong, it turned out to be really fun.
