1. Focal Point
Good designs have a strong main area. This area catches attention
first. It helps people see the most important parts of the design
quickly.
2. Scale & Hierarchy
Scale shows what's important in a design. Bigger or bolder things seem
more important. Smaller or less noticeable things seem less
important.
3. Balance the Elements
Think of each part of a design as having weight. Bigger parts feel
heavier. Parts with more detail also feel heavier. Balancing these
different weights creates a good design.
4. White Space
White space is the empty area in a design. This space isn't really
empty, though. It helps balance the busy parts of a design. White space
gives the design room to breathe. It makes the overall look clearer and
better.

Golden Ratio
The Golden Ratio is a special number in math. This ratio appears often
in nature. When used in design, it creates layouts that look natural and
pleasing.
The Golden Ratio helps make designs beautiful. It creates harmony and
good proportions. This ratio adds an artistic feel to designs. Using the
Golden Ratio in design is simple. One easy way is to make the sizes of
things in a 1 to 1.618 ratio.
Rule of Thirds
The Rule of Thirds is a design technique that:
• Makes designs naturally pleasing to look at
• Uses empty space in creative ways
• Creates a connection between the main subject and background
2. Practical : Collage Design
I went to Sunway Medical Centre, UNIQLO, and shopping malls to get several free magazines rather than having to buy a new magazine for RM30 each. I also shared the extra magazines with my friends after I had them, in order to make a collage design for the assignment.
3. Reflection
Making a physical collage design is not really difficult, but when
you want to place the elements after you've cut them out, it's
challenging to decide where to put them because you need to think hard
to combine the elements well into one cohesive collage
design.
However, working on a digital collage design is easier because you
can change, remove, or undo elements as needed. It's like when you
make a mess with a physical college, you can't do anything about it,
but with a digital one, you have the flexibility to rearrange and
adjust the elements until you achieve the desired result.
